Chandeliers, pendant lights, reading lamps and more

Do you want your bedroom to feel like a relaxing sanctuary? The right lighting can make all the difference.

Whether you crave a subtle reading lamp or a striking chandelier, lighting in your bedroom can do wonders when it comes to creating atmosphere and style.

So if your sleeping area is ready for a makeover, here are five lighting looks from Instagram that can brighten up the bedroom without going overboard.

1. Sculptural chandelier

For an elegant bedroom without overhead lighting and eye-catching pieces, this sculptural chandelier by @prointeriorstudio might be just the thing.

“I would use this sculptural chandelier in a bedroom that calls for some drama,” says Joyce HustonHead Designer at Decorilla. “It’s perfect for someone who likes to make a statement. I would just make sure the rest of the room doesn’t compete with it too much because this chandelier has to be the star of the show.”

2. Dreamy pendant

If your bedroom leans more toward an organic, upscale vibe, you might want to add a dreamy flower-shaped pendant light like this one from @mennarefaat.interiordesign.

“It is actually a lamp by the French designer or a similar Elsa Foulon and imitates the shape of flower petals, creating an airy atmosphere,” says Design Director Meggan Fadden Wynjafrom the Color Cord Company. “You could replicate the design by using a pendant light with a fabric-covered cord in a neutral shade and then using DIY materials for layered sculptural elements.”

3. Round wall lamps

When mood lighting is what’s needed most in a summer bedroom, we love the look of these round wall lights from @divyangmevada_and_team.

“Light panel wall lights, commonly referred to as round wall lights, emit a uniform, radiant light due to their rounded shape,” says designer Robert Berrizby Berriz Designs. “Their minimalist profile makes them ideal for bedrooms with a clean, streamlined aesthetic, as they provide mood lighting without distracting from the overall decor.”

4. Brass reading lamp

For the bedroom that needs a modern bedside lamp, we love this reading lamp from @livmcilkenny.

“This brass reading lamp is a timeless piece that will never go out of style,” says Huston. “I think its popularity lies in its versatility – the warm brass finish adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to any room, while the spherical shade provides a soft, atmospheric light.”

5. Wall candlestick

If your style is more old-fashioned chic than modern, take a cue from @theresachristinehome, who shared this bedroom look.

“Instead of open flames, I recommend using LED tea lights or battery-operated taper candles to safely achieve the look of wall sconces,” says Berriz. “Their soft, flickering glow provides warmth and ambiance without the risk of fire, and they work well in traditional, rustic and romantic bedrooms.”
