A contestant on the show “Eat Bulaga” caused a hot topic on the Internet after he displayed “inappropriate” behavior on the show, confusing hosts and audience.

On Wednesday, August 7, during the “Peraphy Express” segment of the noontime show, Angelito Calida, a contestant selected from the audience, exhibited “strange” behavior in the middle of his game when he unexpectedly approached “Singer Queen” Anne and tried to hug her.

Hosts Vic Sotto and Miles Ocampo stopped Calida and tried to talk him out of it. Before his “inappropriate” action, the contestant appeared “weird” as he was moving his body back and forth and did not respond well to the hosts’ questions before even starting the game. Calida was then replaced in the segment while the medical team attended to him.

In a statement, Eat Bulaga said Calida experienced extreme “nervousness” that caused him to be “disoriented” during the game. On Thursday’s episode of the noontime show, the hosts reminded their audience to inform management if they feel anything unusual so that the doctor can attend to them.

As the clip made the rounds on the Internet, netizens expressed their opinions on the incident.

“Actually, naisip ko talaga is a panic attack. Bakit ko nasabi, kase I am someone who has been diagnosed with GAD and the manifestation ko is a panic attack. My initial coping mechanism is to move around and shake off the panic. Not sure why I need a new device,” wrote one X user.

“Di naman Cguro baliw…I’ve been with people with ASD, vegeng Meron din sya nun pero high-functioning sya (mild or NASA Spectrum sya)…Kasi sobra din yung pagtabi nya k Bossing kanina e..Hindi uso ang personal space sa kanya… or possibly mental health issues…” another netizen chimed in.
