When you’re promoting a new film, the idea of that film dominating public discussion is usually a welcome one. Unless, of course, the reason for the talk is widespread rumors of unrest among your cast and crew.

The new film has been out for about a week It ends with us – with Blake Lively Along with a supporting cast that includes Jenny Slate, Hasan Minhaj, Brandon Sklenar and Justin Baldoni, who also directs the film, he has been the focus of numerous rumors on social media.

It all started on TikTok, where amateur detectives gathered alleged evidence that there was “drama” among the cast, and things took off from there.

So where does all this come from?

Well, the discussion seems to have started when it was noticed that none of the main actors of “It Ends With Us” followed their director on Instagram, even though he followed all of them.

The Evening Standard also pointed out that in promoting the film, the press often saw the actors being interviewed individually rather than in pairs or groups.

And even at the premiere, there were no photos of Blake and Justin together, even though they play the main roles in the film, although she did posed for photos with several other members of the cast.

Everything is still harmless, right?

The Hollywood Reporter also claimed that there was drama among the filmmakers during the editing process, citing alleged “sources” who claimed that they ended up with two different cuts of the finished film.

Oh, and then there’s the fact that Blake apparently brought her husband Ryan Reynolds to rework certain parts of the script by screenwriter Christy Hall.

“The iconic rooftop scene was actually written by my husband,” she told E! News at the premiere of It Ends With Us. “Now, no one knows that but you.”

Blake added: “We help each other. He works on everything I do. I work on everything he does. So his wins and his celebrations are mine and mine are his.”

Meanwhile, according to unnamed “insiders” from the Hollywood Reporter, Ryan wrote:a large part of the dialogue for the scene,” but not the whole thing.

Meanwhile, an interview with Jenny Slate at the premiere on X garnered millions of views after a user accused her of “ignoring” a question about working with her director and co-star.

Personally… we’re less convinced by this, as she’s not necessarily avoiding the question completely, but it certainly doesn’t help the matter.

All this fuss reminds fans of the countless media reports surrounding the release of Don’t worry, darlingwith Florence Pugh And Harry Styleswhich was directed by the Grammy winner’s then girlfriend Olivia Wilde.

Much of this drama was never explained, other than the fact that no matter what you read, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine at the Venice Film Festival.

HuffPost UK has reached out to It Ends With Us reps Justin Baldoni and Blake Likely for comment in the hope they can clear things up before media hysteria reaches Don’t Worry Darling levels…
