D23 2024 is in the pipeline and as someone who was there, I have to say it was quite a successful show. Disney fans were able to get a good insight into the future of the film studios and the theme parks. While most fans seem to be quite happy with what they have heard, there are a few issues that people have and many of them concern the Toy Story 5 Announcements that provoked funny and scathing reactions from Internet users.
Bob Iger previously announced Toy Story 5 was on the way, but over the weekend fans learned (officially) that franchise writer Andrew Stanton would direct the film, and some information about the plot. Toy Story 5 was one of several announced sequels from Pixar, and some seem to feel that Disney relies a bit too much on its franchises.

While one generally expects every film that becomes a hit, Toy history has certainly expanded beyond that and made not just a fourth, but now a fifth film. The most interesting thing about it is that the IP is not even the only animation franchise with a fifth installment scheduled for 2026, and yet the reaction to Shrek5 was completely different:

It is certainly true that people are a little more excited about the return of the Shrek Franchise than about the Toy history series. Maybe that’s simply because the fourth part of this film series is almost 15 years old, so it’s been gone for a while. Still, others feel that Toy Story 5 is simply an unoriginal idea and Pixar should focus more on:

In addition to Toy Story 5Pixar has two new original ideas for the future, the sci-fi adventure Elio, where we learned more about D23, and the newly announced funnel. So there is Are original ideas along the way. For others, however, the problem is that the plot of TS5 is less original because it relies on a hackneyed cliché:

While what we know about Toy Story 5 is still fairly limited, but there will almost certainly be more to the story than just the superficial toys vs. technology plot. We’ll have to wait a few years to see what that’s all about, though. Of course, by the time the film comes out, the franchise will be over 30 years old, and some of the original viewers will be in a very different situation than when they started:
It should be said that not everyone on Toy Story 5. For some, the franchise was still valuable even after four installments, so there is no reason to believe that the fifth installment will be any less special:

Whether the world needs it or not Toy Story 5the movie is coming, so we can only hope it will be good. Many people shared similar feelings about Toy Story 4and argued that no one needed the movie. That film was well received by critics and fans and earned Pixar and Disney a billion dollars worldwide. If the fifth film can repeat that success, everyone will be pretty happy.
