CHAMBERSBURG – In a heartwarming celebration of a life well lived, Mr. Phillip A. Patterson celebrated his 100th birthday on August 10 with family and friends in Chambersburg Hamilton Township. The occasion was made even more special by the raising of 100 flags, a tribute to his century of life and service. A decorated veteran of the United States Navy Seabees, Mr. Patterson served in World War II from 1943 to 1946. His service took him to the Admiralty Islands and Okinawa, Japan, in the Pacific, where he contributed to the war effort with honor and distinction.

Despite reaching this remarkable milestone, Mr. Patterson continues to live independently and did not give up driving until he was 96 years old. His ability to maintain this vitality is a testament to his unwavering spirit and positive outlook on life. The celebration was not just a birthday party, but a gathering to honor the legacy of a member of the Greatest Generation.
