Florida Democratic Party recently announced new hires and promotions

The Florida Democratic Party recently announced eleven new hires and promotions to elect Democrats and Kamala Harris.

The Florida Democratic Party is focused on the August and November elections and hopes to organize a statewide campaign against Republicans and Governor Ron DeSantis. Florida Democrats have reopened their voter protection hotline (833) VOTE-FLA or (833) 868-3352. It is available weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with extended hours on weekends and election days to provide information and assistance to voters.

“The strength of our staff in the Florida Democratic Party is a testament to the energy that exists here in Florida,” said FDP Chair Nikki Fried. “We are building a statewide team that will work tirelessly to elect Democrats across the ballot – from Pensacola to Key West – and help elect Kamala Harris President of the United States.”

Here are the 11 most recent hires and promotions at the FDP:

Steven Cary has joined the party as General Counsel. Cary is a Fort Myers native and previously served as Regional Voter Protection Director for the FDP in 2014 and 2016. Most recently, Cary served as legal counsel for the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition and as district director for Congressman Charlie Crist from 2017 to 2022. He holds a BA in political science from Florida Gulf Coast University and a JD from Stetson University College of Law.

Jordi Zapata has joined the party as political director. A Dunedin native, Zapata was most recently parliamentary advisor to Democratic caucus leader Fentrice Driskell after serving as field manager for Lindsay Cross (HD 60) and as a program fellow for Ruth’s List Florida. He holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and policy from the University of South Florida and is a past chair of the Hillsborough County Young Democrats.

Sam Fullam has been promoted to Data Director after serving as Voter File Manager and Deputy Data Director since 2023. Fullam is a native of York, PA, and his political experience includes stints at Deliver Strategies, Eugene DePasquale’s campaign for Pennsylvania Auditor General, and Jon Ossoff’s campaign for U.S. Senate.

Keith Moore has joined the party as director of operations. A Tallahassee native, Moore’s past roles include For Our Future, the 2018 campaign coordinated by Andrew Gillum, the 2016 campaign coordinated by Hillary Clinton, and Gwen Graham for Congress. He holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Florida and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in mass communications at the UF College of Journalism.

Alexis Dorman has joined the party as director of campus voter registration. Dorman is an Orlando native and currently serves as president of the Florida College Democrats. She previously served as a parliamentary aide to Rep. Johanna Lopez. She is currently pursuing a dual bachelor’s degree in international affairs and political science at Florida State University.

Andres Cubillos has joined the party as the North Florida regional director of voter engagement. A native of Tallahassee, Cubillos is a member of the FDP Youth Council. He has worked with the Youth Action Fund, Campus Vote Project, Students Learn Students Vote Coalition, Student PIRGs, Transformative Justice Coalition, and Students Demand Action. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Florida State University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in applied American politics and policy at the FSU College of Social Sciences and Public Policy.

Paul De Stefano has joined the party as Regional Voter Engagement Director for Central Florida. A Longwood native, De Stefano’s political career has included work with For Our Future, NextGen America, Blue Velocity, and Karen Green for FL-7 in 2022. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Central Florida.

Denisse Berrios has joined the party as the South Florida regional director of voter engagement. A native of Chile and raised in Miami, Berrios is the executive vice president of the Miami-Dade Young Democrats and has worked in politics for Tallahassee City Councilman Jack Porter, Hillsborough County School Board member Nadia Combs, and Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, among others. She earned a BA in International Relations from Florida International University.

Paige Brocker has joined the party as executive assistant. A Fort Myers native, Brocker has worked in politics for Leon County Commissioner Christian Caban and Leon County Commission candidate Jay Revell, among others. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in applied American politics and political science from Florida State University.

Adrianne Weston has joined the party as a candidate and campaign assistant. A Tampa native, Weston has done field work for Biden for President 2020 and the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, among others. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Florida.

Sierra Holmes has joined the party as special assistant to the executive director. Holmes is an Orlando native whose past roles have included an internship with state Rep. Anna V. Eskamani and serving on the board of Ruth’s List Central Florida. She earned a BA in political science from the University of Central Florida, where she served as senate president and chair of the Black Caucus in the UCF student government.
