Taylor Swift needs no introduction in the world of pop culture! The billionaire has just added another feather to her cap. She is a successful singer, performer, songwriter, and now author!
She recently trademarked the name and rights to her debut novel, A Girl Called Girl. The book, which Taylor wrote as a teenager, tells the story of a mother who wished for a son instead of a daughter.
Swift wrote the novel when she was 14, and the draft was believed to have been in her parents’ custody prior to that. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time the star has trademarked the book; she first reserved the rights to the name in 2015.
After the project sat unreleased for nearly a decade, there may be hope that Swift’s fans could be one step closer to the project. The new branding includes merchandise related to the book as well as audio versions, making it seem like Taylor is finally getting ready to share it with the world.
According to The Sun, Swift began writing long before she launched her music career, explaining while on tour in 2012: “All my friends were in Pennsylvania, so I had nothing to do.
Then she added: “I had this revelation; I’m going to be a novelist and I’m going to write novels. That’s going to be my career path.”
But once her music career took off, there was no turning back for the pop star. Today, her hard work, passion, dedication and talent have secured her a permanent place in the world of pop music.
Professionally, Swift will go on tour again in November before concluding her mammoth concert series in Vancouver on December 8.
She has many other projects in the pipeline, including a re-recording of her 2017 album “Reputation,” which has been met with great enthusiasm by “Swifties” (a term for die-hard Taylor Swift fans).
