Frank Artie “Art” Christopher, Jr.

OBITUARY

Frank Artie Christopher, Jr., known as Art, died peacefully on July 26 surrounded by his loving family. The son of Frank “Art” Christopher, Sr. and Clara Ann Hansen, Art was born in 1932 and grew up in San Jose, California. He graduated from Live Oak High School, San Jose State University and Stanford University. After graduating from SJSU, he attended Officer Candidate School in 1953 and served as an officer in the United States Navy until 1957. Art met his future wife, Noreen, at a mutual friend’s party and they were married from 1966 until his death. During their nearly sixty-year marriage, the family had three daughters and they lived in San Jose, Campbell, Saratoga, Los Gatos and most recently Roseville, California. Art’s loves and passions in life were his wife, his daughters, his grandchildren, his family, golf and the stock market. His career was varied and included working at IBM, being a stockbroker with Dean Witter, then becoming an entrepreneur with Noreen in the flower business they founded together, Christopher’s Flowers, and investing in the stock market. Art was a member of the Saratoga Rotary Club and the Kiwanis Club of Cambrian Park in San Jose for many years. Art was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Donald “Don” Christopher. He is survived by his wife Noreen, his daughters Lisa (husband Mike), Lori and Juli (husband Shaun), his grandchildren Nicole and Audrey, Mackenzie and Trevor, Charlotte and Nicholas, and his nephews Robert (wife Ginny) and Bill (wife Heather). He will be greatly missed by all of us and we will continue to cherish him and the memories we shared with him. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Los Gatos Memorial Park, 2255 Los Gatos-Almaden Road, San Jose, California, 95124, with a celebration of the late artist’s life following at an alternate location. In lieu of flowers, family and friends may make a donation to a charity of their choice in memory of Art’s lifelong generosity.
