Hanoi (VNA) – Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan visited the AO/Dioxin Victims Care, Nursing and Treatment Center in Ba Vi District, Hanoi on August 10 and presented gifts to Agent Orange (AO)/Dioxin victims on the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of Agent Orange (AO)/Dioxin Victims Day (August 10, 1961-2024).

The center currently houses 122 AO/dioxin victims, many of whom are suffering from serious illnesses.

Vice President Xuan said that overcoming the post-war aftermath is still difficult, especially for AO/dioxin victims, as many aftereffects affect the health, quality of life and economic situation of victims and their families. This requires more joint efforts at all levels and sectors.

On this occasion, she also praised and thanked the efforts made by the centre in Hanoi and 26 other centres across the country for AO victims.

In Vietnam, about 4.8 million people are exposed to AO/dioxin, including about 3.2 million victims living in all provinces and cities./.
