Stardew Valley fan talks about surprising use of clay that few know about

Highlights

  • Fishing is a central game mechanism in Stardew Valley. Various fish can be caught and displayed as decoration in aquariums.
  • Interestingly, with the 1.6.4 update in Stardew Valley, clay can be used to create charming sandcastle decorations in aquariums.
  • Even months after the last update, Stardew Valley players are still discovering new surprises, underscoring the game’s depth and enduring popularity.

Update 1.6 is full of surprises for the Stardew Valley community because a player accidentally discovered a new use for clay to decorate his farm. With over 30 million copies sold, it is safe to say that Stardew Valley is one of the most successful indie titles of all time. Its continued popularity is due in large part to the efforts of Eric Barone, who has updated the game with new content since its release.

The latest update for Stardew Valley was released on March 19, 2024 and brought with it a long list of features: a new desert festival, the Meadowlands Farm, better chests and ovens, and the ability to keep multiple pets. While the community has collectively documented all the changes impeccably, individual players are still finding new things in Stardew Valley several months after the release of Update 1.6.

Of all the delicious looking meals in Stardew ValleyPink Cake looks like the most appetizing of all. The pink frosting is heavenly and the fact that the description says the little dots are actually red hearts makes it even better.

An example of this is clay. As an object in Stardew ValleyClay is most commonly used to make soil, garden pots, and brick floors. However, thanks to update 1.6.4, players can also add clay to their aquarium to create an enchanting sandcastle decoration. This discovery was made by emmigator113, who revealed the secret on the Stardew Valley subreddit. The opportunity to own and decorate an aquarium in Stardew Valley was introduced in version 1.5 and allows players to display a limited number of aquatic animals based on the size of the aquarium.

Fishing in Stardew Valley is an important part of the game, as the player must deal with the mechanics to complete the community center (in a conventional playthrough). The farmer can catch fish in two ways: with his fishing rod or by placing a crab basket on the shore. Certain types of fish can only be caught at a certain time of year, time of day, or even in certain weather conditions. That being said, all fish found in Stardew Valley can be placed in an aquarium, even in stationary ones such as Super Cucumbers.

Haunted Chocolatier has no set release date and it’s been almost three years since it was announced with a gameplay trailer.
