(Reuters) – Concerns about a major conflict in the Middle East have prompted international airlines to cancel flights to the region or avoid affected airspace.
Below are some of the airlines that have adjusted their connections to and from the region:
AEGEAN AIRLINES
The Greek airline has cancelled flights to and from Amman until September 30, Beirut until October 1 and Tel Aviv until October 26.
AIR ALGERIA
The Algerian airline has suspended flights to and from Lebanon until further notice.
AIRBALTIC
Latvia’s Air Baltic has cancelled its flights to and from Tel Aviv until September 1.
AIR FRANCE-KLM
Following a major missile exchange between Israel and Hezbollah on August 25, Air France has cancelled flights to Tel Aviv and Beirut until at least August 26.
KLM has cancelled all flights to and from Tel Aviv until October 26.
The low-cost airline Transavia of the French-Dutch group has cancelled flights to and from Tel Aviv until March 31, 2025, as well as flights to Amman and Beirut until November 3.
AIR INDIA
The Indian airline has suspended scheduled flights to and from Tel Aviv until further notice.
CATAYA PACIFIC
Hong Kong-based airline Cathay Pacific has cancelled all flights to Tel Aviv until March 27, 2025.
DELTA AIRLINES
The US airline suspended its flights between New York and Tel Aviv until October 31.
Easyjet
The British low-cost airline suspended flights to and from Tel Aviv in April and will resume them on March 30, 2025, a spokesman said.
IAG
A spokesman for IAG subsidiary British Airways said it had suspended its flights to and from Tel Aviv until August 28.
The Spanish low-cost airline Vueling has cancelled all flights to Tel Aviv and Amman until October 26.
Iberia Express has suspended flights to Tel Aviv until August 25. As of August 26, there was no update on the status of flights on the airline’s website.
ITA AIRWAYS
The Italian airline ITA Airways has extended the suspension of flights to and from Tel Aviv until August 26.
MUCH
The Polish airline has suspended flights to Tel Aviv until September 1 and to Beirut until September 2.
LUFTHANSA-GROUP
The German airline, which includes Swiss International Air Lines, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Condor and Eurowings, will resume flights to Amman and Erbil from August 27, but will extend the suspension to Tel Aviv and Tehran until September 2. Flights to Beirut are suspended until September 30.
RYANAIR
Europe’s largest low-cost airline has cancelled flights to and from Tel Aviv until September 30 due to “operational restrictions”.
ROYAL JORDANIAN
The state news agency reported that Jordan’s national airline suspended flights to Beirut on August 25, without giving an exact timeframe.
SUNEXPRESS
SunExpress, a joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, has suspended its flights to Beirut until December 17.
TAROM
Romania’s national airline has cancelled flights to Tel Aviv on August 25 and 26, after temporarily resuming them between August 20 and 23. It has also updated the flight schedule to and from Amman on August 25 and 26 to allow the use of diversion routes.
It had previously extended the suspension of flights to Beirut until September 2.
UNITED AIRLINES
For safety reasons, the Chicago-based airline has suspended its flights to Tel Aviv for the foreseeable future.
LEBANESE AIRSPACE WARNINGS
Britain advised British airlines not to enter Lebanese airspace from August 8 to November 4 because “military activities pose a potential threat to aviation.”
