Chris Jericho talks about the retirement of Bryan Danielson and John Cena – PWMania

FTW Champion “The Learning Tree” Chris Jericho spoke to TV Insider about a number of topics, including the impending retirements of Bryan Danielson and John Cena.

Jericho said: “It doesn’t change my perspective at all because Bryan was out of action for nine years. He couldn’t work. John wasn’t working regularly for about the same time. Bryan has been incredible since he came back from his injuries. He’s one of the greatest wrestlers in the world and of all time. If he wants to retire, he will. It’s the same with John. One of the greatest of all time. He went to Hollywood and became a huge success and wants to come back and cap off his career. I don’t see the point for me. That’s just me. I remember the Scorpions did a big farewell tour a few years ago and then decided they were having too much fun and came back and played. The same goes for Judas Priest. The Who retired in 1982 and are still playing. Why put the pressure on a retirement and a schedule? For me, I’m just happy to still be doing it at a high level.”

On the subject of not wanting to do a farewell tour or farewell game:

“When the time comes, I don’t want a farewell tour, I think. I don’t need a big farewell match. I’m just going to quit. Maybe I’ll look at it differently, but I have other things too. I have Fozzy, where I get the live element as well. I have the podcast, the cruise, the acting. I have other stuff going on and I’ve quit wrestling a couple of times. We’ll see what happens. Sting’s retirement was one of the greatest moments ever. I think it’s great that Cena is doing a farewell tour and people know those are the dates to see him. John is very ambitious in that regard. He’ll be done when he says he’s done and never come back. Bryan has already said he’s never going to quit. You won’t see him as a full-time wrestler, but you will see him in the ring for a long time. Everyone is different. For me, I just live in the moment and enjoy going to work every week and doing cool shit. As long as I feel that way, I will continue to do it.”
