(Reuters) – Fears of a major conflict in the Middle East have prompted international airlines to cancel flights to the region or avoid affected airspace.
Below are some of the airlines that have adjusted their connections to and from the region:
AEGEAN AIRLINES
The Greek airline has cancelled flights to and from Amman until September 30, Beirut until October 1 and Tel Aviv until October 26.
AIR ALGERIA
The Algerian airline has temporarily suspended flights to and from Lebanon until further notice.
AIRBALTIC
Latvia’s Air Baltic has cancelled flights to and from Tel Aviv until August 25.
AIR FRANCE-KLM
KLM has cancelled all flights to and from Tel Aviv until October 26. Air France resumed operations between Paris and Beirut on August 15 after a two-week suspension.
The low-cost airline Transavia of the French-Dutch group has cancelled flights to and from Tel Aviv until March 31, 2025, as well as flights to Amman and Beirut until November 3.
AIR INDIA
The Indian airline has suspended scheduled flights to and from Tel Aviv until further notice.
CATAYA PACIFIC
Hong Kong-based airline Cathay Pacific has cancelled all flights to Tel Aviv until March 27, 2025.
DELTA AIRLINES
The US airline suspended its flights between New York and Tel Aviv until October 31.
Easyjet
The British low-cost airline suspended its flights to and from Tel Aviv in April and will resume them on March 30, 2025, a spokesman said.
FINNAIRE
The Finnish airline continues not to use Iranian airspace, which may lead to longer flight times to and from Doha.
IBERIA EXPRESS
IAG-owned low-cost airline Iberia Express has extended the suspension of flights to Tel Aviv until August 25.
ITA AIRWAYS
The Italian airline ITA Airways has extended the suspension of flights to and from Tel Aviv until August 26.
MUCH
The Polish airline has suspended flights to Tel Aviv and Beirut until August 26, it said in an emailed comment to Reuters.
LUFTHANSA-GROUP
The German airline, which includes Swiss International Air Lines, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Condor and Eurowings, will resume flights to Amman and Erbil from August 27, but extended the suspension of flights to Tel Aviv and Tehran until September 2. Flights to Beirut are suspended until September 30.
RYANAIR
Europe’s largest low-cost airline has cancelled flights to and from Tel Aviv until September 30 due to “operational restrictions”.
SINGAPORE AIRLINES
The Singaporean airline has stopped flying over Iranian airspace and is using alternative routes.
SUNEXPRESS
SunExpress, a joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, told Reuters in an email that flights to Beirut were suspended until December 17.
TAROM
On August 20, the Romanian airline extended the suspension of flights to Beirut until September 2 and temporarily resumed flights to Tel Aviv and Amman until August 23.
UNITED AIRLINES
The Chicago-based airline has suspended its flights to Tel Aviv for the foreseeable future. It suspended daily service between Newark, New Jersey and Tel Aviv on July 31 due to safety concerns.
VUELING
The Spanish low-cost airline Vueling, which is part of the IAG Group, has cancelled all flights to Tel Aviv and Amman until October 26.
LEBANESE AIRSPACE WARNINGS
Britain advised British airlines not to enter Lebanese airspace from August 8 to November 4 because “military activities pose a potential threat to aviation.”
