Jennifer Lopez shares first Instagram story since divorce announcement

Jennifer Lopez has returned to social media after filing for divorce from Ben Affleck.

The Atlas The 55-year-old actress reposted a selfie photo from a fan page to her Instagram stories on Friday, August 23, and it had a festive touch.

In the snap, Lopez can be seen posing for a sensual selfie with voluminous blonde hair and a comfortable red two-piece. But the large Christmas tree in the background – with gift boxes and flowers underneath – also deserves an honorable mention, along with a clothes rack.

The selfie appears to be from a glamour session in December 2020. In a similar photo from a different angle, celebrity hairdresser Chris Appleton described the look as “Deluxe Glam Barbie.”

The photo is the first Lopez has posted on social media since filing for divorce from her and Affleck’s two-year marriage on Tuesday, August 20.

In court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Lopez cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split and gave April 26 as the date of separation. She also filed for divorce without the presence of an attorney.

The This is me … now The singer and Affleck, who married in Las Vegas on July 17, 2022 and held a wedding reception in Georgia the following month, reportedly did not have a prenuptial agreement.

A source told PEOPLE on Thursday, August 22, that they had the best intentions when they rekindled their romance, explaining that the couple “really loved each other — and it happened fast.” (Affleck and Lopez were previously engaged in the early 2000s before splitting just days before their wedding.)

“They really wanted to give it a go, and they did,” the source added of the exes’ reunion. “These are two people in love with love, and who wouldn’t jump at that? And the world wanted it.”

The source also told PEOPLE that The Accountant 2 The actor and Lopez are “very different people.”

“She’s super public and wants to go out, and he’s more introverted and likes to hang out at home,” the source said.

Lopez and Affleck spent most of the summer apart, but just last week she was spotted leaving Affleck’s rental home in Brentwood, California, as he celebrated his 52nd birthday on August 15.
