Cosmetology school owner Christine Valmy celebrates the opening of a state-of-the-art facility in New Jersey.

The 20,000-square-foot space at 201 Willowbrook Blvd. in Wayne is the Pine Brook-based brand’s largest school to date and includes specially designed classrooms for theory, hands-on practice and classes in which students offer spa and salon services to the public.

Founded in 1965, CV offers beauty classes, skin care methods and natural cosmetic products for personal and professional care. The educational program offers accredited courses in cosmetology and hair styling, skin care and manicure at the Pine Brook and New York City schools.

All classes currently running at the Pine Brook location will be relocated to the new school, the company said.

Peter de Haydu, CEO of Christine Valmy and son-in-law of the founder, commented on the opening: “We carefully planned and implemented every detail in the construction of this facility – from handcrafted hair washing stations to optimal lighting in the makeup rooms to spa-quality lockers and much more. We want our CV family to feel the professionalism and passion inherent in the Christine Valmy organization as soon as they walk through the elevators into our lobby.”

He added, “We are incredibly excited to offer our students and staff a beautiful new home at the Willowbrook school. Our presence in New Jersey has been relatively small until now due to space constraints and limited access to public transportation. This brand new school is expansive and located next to a major bus hub, meaning we can now offer our world-class education in English and Spanish to a much larger number of aspiring beauty professionals. This is truly a game changer that raises the bar for us and the state’s entire beauty education system.”

CV’s arrival in Wayne comes about a year after the company announced a new leadership team to oversee all current and future locations. As part of the move, Vanessa Maia has been promoted to director of training, a new position focused on streamlining and expanding the company’s training department.
