System of a Down and Deftones performed alongside The Mars Volta, Viagra Boys and VOWWS at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park and we have dozens of photos from the event, which attracted more than 50,000 fans.
The concert was also a first for the historic venue, as it was the first ticketed standalone concert in Golden Gate Park. The August 17 show came just a week after that summer’s Outside Lands festival ended. While most of the festival setup was dismantled, one stage remained standing and was used for this massive show.
System of a Down closed the evening with 25 songs and for the first time with “Genocidal Humanoidz”. Some songs that had not been played live in recent years were also heard again in the legendary band’s set.
