Actor John Abraham recently shared a heartwarming story about his Pathan Co-Star, Shah Rukh Khan, during an appearance on the TV talk show Oh, oh, Zakir. The actor, who played the villain Jim in the hit spy thriller, revealed that Shah Rukh gifted him a motorcycle after the film’s tremendous success last year. Recalling the moment with a smile, John said, “After the release of Pathaan, there was a success party. Shah Rukh was in high spirits and excited about the grand premiere of the film. He invited me to attend the celebration but I told him, ‘No, I have to sleep.’ He was surprised and asked, ‘What, you have to sleep?’ I said, ‘Yes, I have to sleep.’ So he asked me what I wanted and I jokingly said, ‘Just gift me a motorcycle.’ To my surprise, he actually did! I went home happy with my new motorcycle.”
This gesture by Shah Rukh highlights the bond that the two actors developed while working on Pathaan. John had earlier expressed his admiration for Shah Rukh on The Ranveer Show and expressed how much he respected SRK. John had said, “When I started my career, Shah Rukh was a judge in a modelling competition that I was a part of. Fast forward to ‘Pathaan’ and I worked with him. He is incredibly smart, intelligent but also very caring and sweet. We got along really well.”
Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Aditya Chopra, became a massive hit, grossing over Rs 1,050 crore worldwide (Rs 654 crore in India). The film is part of the YRF Spy Universe and features an ensemble cast of Deepika Padukone, Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana, and a guest appearance by Salman Khan.
Meanwhile, John Abraham is currently enjoying the earnings of his latest film Vedaa, directed by Nikkhil Advani, which hit the theatres last week. The film grossed Rs 16 crore in India. He will next be seen in the action-packed film Tehran. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his next project, King, a crime drama directed by Sujoy Ghosh.
