The Green Party’s list of candidates for the November election, including the candidate for the U.S. Senate, will be expanded due to a typo, the Arizona Secretary of State’s office said on Saturday.

Foreign Minister Adrian Fontes’ office said an electoral administration system failed to properly distinguish between a new and an existing party, affecting the way results were recorded for the Greens.

“After determining that there was indeed an error, we worked diligently to correct the results for the candidates, voters and the party,” said Lisa Marra, election director in Fontes’ office.

According to the announcement, seven more Green Party candidates will be on the ballot in the November 5 parliamentary elections.

New candidates who are not eligible for election to the Senate include Eduardo Quintana for the U.S. Senate, Vincent Beck-Jones for the U.S. House of Representatives in the 4th District, and Athena Eastwood for the 6th District. Tre Rook will run for the Arizona State Legislature in the 8th District, Cody Hannah in the 13th District, and Scott Menor in the 14th District. In addition, Mike Cease and Nina Luxenberg will enter the race for the Arizona State Corporation Commission.

According to a press release from Fontes’ office, in December 2023 the Green Party met the minimum number of signatures to qualify as a new party for the federal, state and parliamentary elections in 2024.
