American Airlines and Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) launch campaign to accelerate funding for cancer research

Rosario Dawson, prominent SU2C ambassador, is launching this year’s fundraising campaign with American with a striking new video and members of the airline team.

Customers will earn American Airlines AAdvantage® miles for donations to SU2C during the six-week campaign.

FORT WORTH, Texas, 15 August 2024 /PRNewswire/ — American Airlines, in partnership with Stand Up To Cancer® (SU2C), is launching its annual campaign to raise funds for innovative and life-saving cancer research and invites customers to donate. The campaign kicked off with a powerful new public service advertisement featuring actress, film producer and SU2C celebrity ambassador Rosario Dawson.

Now through September 30, customers will earn 25 AAdvantage® bonus miles for every dollar they donate. $25 or more to face cancer.

In addition, anyone who uses their AAdvantage® Mastercard® credit card for deposits between $25 And 10,000 US dollars earn 50 AAdvantage® bonus miles per dollar until September 30 or 3 million US dollars was donated, whichever comes first. To donate, customers can SU2C.org/AA.

Since the merger in 2016, American has acquired more than 20 million US dollars through fundraising for SU2C. In 2019, American debuted a campaign Donors had the opportunity to honor a loved one by having their name placed on an Airbus A321 with a special SU2C livery.

To further highlight the campaign this year and give customers the opportunity to support the campaign’s important cause, American will launch a special limited edition amenity kit in collaboration with sustainable fashion brand Raven + Lily.

The new Flagship® First Class and Flagship® Business Class kits feature SU2C colors of yellow, orange and red, as well as Raven + Lily’s signature zigzag pattern, while the Premium Economy kit features SU2C yellow. The limited-edition kits include new skincare brands and offerings. Customers can scan a QR code inside the kits to easily donate to the campaign. The specialty SU2C kits will begin flying later this year. This kit is American’s second limited-edition amenity kit since the airline launched a new amenity kit program earlier this year.
