Arkadium establishes new publishing branch

Arkadium is an online gaming platform known for developing casual browser games such as Mahjong, Bubble Shooter and Crossword Puzzles. Now they have launched a browser game publishing service.

This will provide browser-based developers with the ability to offer third-party publishing, following on from their successful developer program that launched in April. In addition to third-party publishing, they have set up a new $1 million fund to support developers and provide them with the resources they need to work on their projects.

Alongside this announcement, Arkadium has also announced that they have partnered with Sony Pictures Entertainment to release an official Who Wants To Be A Billionaire? video game. In addition to the Who Wants To Be A Billionaire video game, they have announced six new titles that will be released under the new publishing arm.

These include “Categories” and “Room Escapes” by Article 19, “Element Blocks” and “Zoo Boom” by Famobi, “Multiplayer Chess Online” by Foony and “Ridella” by Dylan Kappor.

Arkadium released a statement alongside this announcement: “Our new Arkadium Publishing initiative builds on our Arkadium for Developers program and provides game developers with even more support for success in the browser,” said Dan Butchko, Director of Developer Relations at Arkadium.

“This is the next step in our continued growth as a leader in browser-based gaming as we partner with some of the world’s most innovative and passionate game developers to build the world’s best gaming platform.”

Browser games are often used by people who don’t have access to a full-fledged gaming PC, or by people who are in school and use browser games to escape work. They are used in many situations, and Arkadium opening its company to outside developers is a great sign for the future of browser gaming. The company offers a 75 percent revenue share model where game developers around the world can submit their games to the Arkadium Developer Program.

With the help of the Arkadium for Developers program, they hope to launch 30 new titles over the course of 2024 and put the new initiative to good use.
