SDNY CourthouseAugust 19 – A self-proclaimed brand safety consultant sued American Airlines and others for using her photo without her consent.
On August 19, Judge Jed S. Rakoff of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York held a conference, reported by Inner City Press.
Judge Rakoff asked which of the defendants would seek personal jurisdiction and other grounds. Many spoke up, including American Airlines, which said it had named an incorrect subsidiary.
It was decided that the plaintiff must file an amended complaint by August 23 and submit his motions by August 30. An in-person hearing will then follow on September 27. If the case survives, the hearing will take place in January 2025.
The case is Jammi v. American Airlines Group, Inc. et al., 24-cv-4854 (Rakoff)
