ALEXANDRIA, Louisiana (CALF) – For the artists in the area, Sunflower Van Geaux Art Studio is a destination for art classes and painting parties and is located in Alexandria at 6501 Coliseum Blvd.
Sunflower Van Geaux just celebrated its one-year anniversary.
During a class on August 13, budding artists learned how to paint their own creations by layering and mixing colors of their choice. The studio also taught them the burnishing technique.
The owner, Allie Robertson, talked about why she opened this art studio and some upcoming events.
“It’s definitely because I want people to learn more about art, learn about their style and just have fun doing it,” Robertson said. “We have a number of acrylic events coming up, some alcohol markers, colored pencil classes. There are a lot of fun activities in addition to watercolor painting. It’s great for adults, kids, anyone can come. You can have a little date with your spouse or even with your child and just explore all the little mediums that we have.”
