Victoria Beckham says photos from her 50th birthday prove she is not a ‘miserable cow’

Victoria Beckham says her 50th birthday photos prove she is not a “miserable cow”.
The former Spice Girls singer threw a party at the end of April to celebrate her big age. In photos posted by her friends on the Internet, she could be seen smiling – and in pictures taken by photographers who photographed her piggybacking on the back of her husband David Beckham (49) from the private club in Mayfair where the party took place.
She told Grazia that the pictures accurately reflected her personality: “They showed the world who I really am. This is the real me. So it’s like saying, ‘Happy birthday, all the hard work I’ve put in all these years to look like a miserable cow was for nothing!’
“All my friends have successfully ruined this.
“I also think that as you get older you become less concerned about what others think.”
For years, Victoria was the butt of jokes about never smiling in photographs.
The Spice Girls reunited for their 50th birthday party, with guests including Tom Cruise, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Eva Longoria, Charlotte Tilbury and Gordon Ramsay.
Mother-of-four Victoria also told Grazia that she loves hanging out with women and is not at all the “ice queen” people think she is, as she enjoys sharing fashion tips with women through her business and puts “humour” at the heart of her life.
She added: “I’m a real girl and I think that comes across. I remember growing up, my mum had two very close friends and one of them never told my mum where she got her outfit or her bag.
“She just didn’t want anyone else to know. There are a lot of women like her and it’s bizarre.
“When I have something great, a great tip or a great new pair of sneakers, I want to tell everyone.
“The other thing is that for a long time, because of the paparazzi photos and the story the media told about them, people had the idea that I was the ice queen with the steely face.
“Social media has made people see that I’m not that. I like to laugh at myself. There’s always humor in what we do. I think that’s the key.”
