Princess Charlotte spotted with rare gift from Wimbledon star to Kate Middleton

Princess Charlotte was spotted today with a rare gift presented to Kate Middleton by a BBC Wimbledon champion. Wimbledon women’s champion Barbora Krejčiková gifted the Princess of Wales, who made a rare appearance at today’s event, the racket she used to win yesterday’s match.

Nine-year-old Charlotte is seen here with racket in hand after attending today’s men’s singles final between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz, which the Spaniard won in straight sets on Centre Court in SW19, alongside her mother and aunt Pippa Middleton.

After wasting three championship points trying to claim victory, Alcaraz held his arms high after battling through the third-set tiebreak to win 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4). “Honestly, it’s a dream for me to win this trophy,” Alcaraz said.

“I gave an interview when I was 11 and said my dream was to win Wimbledon.” Body language expert Judi James said: “Kate exuded regal confidence, greeting the screaming fans from the catwalk with a delighted and slightly surprised wave, which Charlotte imitated as her mother turned to nudge her.

“Dressed in dark purpleknown as the royal shade, Kate looked relaxed and elegant and the way she spent several long moments chatting with those backstage made her look like she was in no hurry to escape to the comfortable seats.”

However, Judi noticed the princess making small movements to calm herself as all eyes were on her. She explained: “(Kate’s) gesticulations appeared animated and there were only a couple of moments where she smoothed her hair in an unnecessary act of self-soothing, showing signs that she was not back to her best.”

For the second year in a row, Djokovic was attempting to match Roger Federer’s record of eight men’s Wimbledon titles. The 24-time major winner was also looking to overtake Margaret Court and break the all-time record for most Grand Slam singles titles.
