Morgan County United Way announces return of “United We Race” – The Fort Morgan Times

The sixth annual Amazing Race-inspired “United We Race” fundraiser returns to Riverside Park in Fort Morgan on October 5 at 10 a.m.

The event supports the United Way of Morgan County, with all funds raised benefiting 17 local nonprofits. These organizations play a critical role in supporting individuals and families in need, focusing on health, education, and financial stability. Last year, the United Way of Morgan County successfully raised over $700,000 for local nonprofits through its Collective Impact program, which focuses on access to food, affordable housing, and resources for children and youth.

Inspired by the television show The Amazing Race, teams of two compete in a series of mini-challenges that test their physical and mental abilities. This event promises a variety of exciting activities, from assembling wheelbarrows and completing obstacle courses to counting popcorn kernels and taking on hot sauce tasting challenges. For each challenge completed, teams receive a clue to their next goal. The ultimate goal is to complete the final challenge and emerge victorious.

Beyond the excitement and competition, United We Race serves a greater purpose. By participating, teams not only have fun, but they also support the important work of the United Way of Morgan County. Funds raised at this event benefit 17 local nonprofits that help individuals and families in need with health, education, and financial stability. Last year alone, the United Way of Morgan County raised over $700,000 for local nonprofits through its Collective Impact program, which focuses on access to food, affordable housing, and resources for children and youth.

The event is open to local businesses, groups of friends and families, providing a fun and meaningful challenge for all. Sponsorship benefits include brand exposure through event advertising, signage and media coverage, community engagement through supporting local initiatives, networking opportunities with other sponsors, participants and community leaders, and exclusive perks such as free team entries, VIP access and recognition at the event.
