Iceland is to open a new Food Warehouse in Leicestershire. The new store, in the former Wilko on Melton Road in Syston, will open on Tuesday 21 May and will have plenty of bargains to attract shoppers on the first day, according to a company spokesperson.

Also on opening day, £1,000 worth of Iceland vouchers will be given away to the first 100 customers and a giant 1.2kg tub of jelly beans will be given away to the first 200 customers in line.

The deal will create about 30 new jobs in the area, some of which are still available, the spokesman added.

For one day only, May 21st, the new Food Warehouse in Syston is offering seven special offers to its customers in store. Anyone who comes on opening day can benefit from the following one-off offers:

  • Pepsi Max cans – pack of 24, £7 – was £10

  • Velvet Classic Quilted Toilet Paper – Pack of 24, £5 – was £8.50

  • Yorkshire Tea Bags – Pack of 210, £4 – was £5.25

The supermarket will open at 8am on opening day and anyone who gets in line before 7.45am will receive a free raffle ticket as well as vouchers and a large packet of jelly beans. The winner of the raffle ticket will be able to enter a supermarket prize draw and take whatever they can grab from the shelves in 90 seconds.

Other prizes include gift hampers, air fryers and blenders. Kristian Barrett, Group Retail Director at Iceland Foods, said: “We are delighted to be opening our new store, which will enable us to ensure even more local residents can benefit from market-leading offers and a fantastic range of frozen, delicatessen and fresh produce.”
