‘When I see your second wife…’: Twinkle Khanna reveals she asked Akshay to eat ‘poisonous grass’ when she dies

Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar are one of the coolest couples in Tinsel Town. The couple has been married since 2001 and is known for their sweet and fun relationship.

In her recent column for the Indian news portal Times of India, the actress recounted a funny incident from her vacation and how she advised Akshay to eat poisonous grass if she died first.

Recalling the incident, Twinkle said that on their last trip, their guide had told them about a pair of birds who were so devoted to each other that if one died, the other would end its life by eating poisonous grass.

“As we were returning to camp that evening, the guide showed us a pair of birds called Tik-Tik who are so devoted to each other that when one dies, the other sometimes kills itself by eating poisonous grass. I said to my husband (Akshay), ‘Acha (listen), if I die first, you better eat poisonous grass too,'” Twinkle wrote.

She warned her husband, saying, “If I see your second wife walking around with my handbags, I promise I will come and chase you both.”

Even more comical was Akshay’s response. She wrote on her blog: “He shook his head and replied, ‘I want to eat this poisonous grass right now, so I don’t have to listen to all this nonsense.’ Then he swatted at a mosquito on my arm, the human equivalent of baboons delousing each other. We continued the complex choreography of cooperation, affection and mutual tolerance as our jeep sped toward the setting sun.”

In his recent interview, Akshay spoke about how different he and his wife are, but what they have in common is their “mutual respect.”

In a recent conversation with Galataa India, Khel Khel Main The actor said that “respect” and “giving each other space” were the most important things.

He added: “My wife and I are very different. We are completely different. She thinks left, I think right. It’s completely different. The only thing we have in common is that we like to go to bed early and get up early. We also like to play rugby or Ludo. Apart from that, we think completely differently.”
