Washington Commanders among favorites for big star WR trade

Washington Commanders among favorites for big star WR trade

The Washington Commanders are still in the race for Brandon Aiyuk. At least for now.

The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver still does not have a new contract with his current franchise and a transfer that would offer him a new home could be imminent – assuming he and the club cannot agree on a long-term deal.

While the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers were reportedly close to signing the fifth-year wide receiver, the Commanders are definitely one to keep an eye on.

Accordingly BetUS Pro FootballThe Commanders have the second-best odds of getting Aiyuk should he wear a jersey other than the 49ers next season. Washington has +250 odds to land the Arizona State product, closely followed by the Steelers, who have +200 odds to land his services.

The Commanders being linked to Aiyuk is nothing new. The All-Pro wide receiver has sparked conversations on social media about a potential connection and even went viral in a video with Washington’s No. 2 and potential franchise quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Now the competition for Aiyuk has become complicated, but he has expressed his desire to play for the Commanders, even though it currently looks like only the Browns and the Steelers are in the race for the star wide receiver.

Aiyuk in a Washington uniform would create a dynamic offense. Running backs Austin Ekeler and Brian Robinson Jr. provide varied performances in the backfield, and a wide receiver trio of Aiyuk, Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson would form an elite core around Daniels as the Commanders look for an offensive comeback.

Still, it will likely remain nothing more than a pipe dream for Commanders fans, as the odds don’t mean much and reports suggest that the situation could soon come to an end as Aiyuk gets a change of scenery.
