A brief history of 54 Below

The atmosphere was electric as the legendary Isaac Mizrahi took the stage last night at 54 Below, Broadway’s supper club. Mizrahi, known for a varied and long career, including was a judge for the entire seven seasons of the series “Project Runway All Stars”, is back due to popular demand for a new performance of his show, Isaac Mizrahi: A Brief HistoryThe series of performances began last night, August 28, and will continue every evening through August 31, with all performances at 7 p.m.

Last night, Mizrahi wore a sleek black suit with a huge white bow tie. His electrifying performance Including Music ranging from Cole Porter’s “You’re the Top” to Billie Eilish’s soulful “What Was I Made For?” Mizrahi spoke on topics from social media to politics and “lots of inside tea.”

At the show, Mizrahi was accompanied by secret surprise guest Alyssa Milano (Charmed). The couple sang a faithful rendition of “Nowadays” from Chicago with enormous response from the crowd. (Mizrahi recently made his Broadway debut in Chicagoin the leading role as Amos Hart.)

Mizrahi will be joined by a different special guest at each show, including tonight’s bestselling author Jake Cohen and Storm Large (America’s Got Talent) tomorrow. His guest for the last show on August 31st will be Lea DeLaria (Orange is the new black).

During the entire performance he is accompanied by the Music Director Ben Waltzer at the piano, Daniel Duke on drums, Joe Strasser on bass and James Sarno on horn.

Isaac Mizrahi has been in the entertainment industry for over 30 years as an artist, host, writer, designer, and producer. With an annual appearance at Cafe Carlyle in New York City, Isaac has performed his cabaret acts across the country and over the past year, Isaac just finished the first season of his podcast.
