I know what Loki season 3 should be about after the MCU replaces Kang

Now that Marvel Studios has officially moved on from Kang’s storyline in the MCU, I know what story would be perfect to tell in a possible Loki Season 3. Despite his death in Avengers: Infinity WarTom Hiddleston’s Loki returned in the Multiverse Saga when a variant of the God of Mischief escaped during the Avengers’ Time Heist. Loki’s adventures with the Time Variance Authority brought him face-to-face with Jonathan Majors’ He Who Remains, a variant of Kang the Conqueror who was designed to be the main antagonist of the Multiverse Saga.

Following the arrest and conviction of Jonathan Majors in 2023, following his appearances in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania And Loki Season 2, I was unsure about Kang’s fate in the MCU. The news that Robert Downey Jr. will make his debut as Doctor Doom in Avengers: Endgame made me think that Kang’s story is really overbut I still think that a possible Loki Season 3 might be the best place to confirm this abrupt ending. If it is confirmed, without Kang and his variants in the MCU, I know exactly what stories Loki Season 3 should focus.

I’m sad that Loki season 3 hasn’t been confirmed yet

Loki Season 2 ended in November 2023

Loki sad about the end of Loki Season 2

Loki is currently the only live-action MCU TV series to get a second season, and the episode was arguably even better than the first. While this made me hopeful that there will be more series, including Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel And Hawkeyewill get a second season, I would like to see Loki get a third one. I’m pretty sad that Marvel Studios hasn’t confirmed yet Loki Season 3, especially if the final of Loki Season 2 ended with so many loose storylines, cliffhangers and unanswered questions – the story is crying out for a sequel.

At the end Loki In the season 2 finale, “Glorious Purpose,” Tom Hiddleston’s new MCU hero sacrifices his own freedom to protect the infinitely branching realities of the multiverse. This action also significantly changed the way the Time Variance Authority operates, as the organization no longer prune variant-created timelines, but instead fights to protect every universe from threats like Kang and his variants. This seemed to lead perfectly into Loki Season 3, but I’m still waiting for the announcementand if that’s the case, I know what story should be told.

The title of the first episode of
Loki
Season 1 in 2021 was also “Glorious Purpose” and marked a full-circle moment for Loki in the course of the two-season series.

Deadpool & Wolverine introduced a new TVA that I want to see more of

Deadpool and Wolverine’s TVA was very different from Loki’s

One of the things I loved most about Loki was the new worldbuilding of the Time Variance Authority (TVA). This organization exists outside of time and space, allowing it to rule every branching timeline of the multiverse, although its original goal was to protect only the Sacred Timeline of Earth-616. This outdated mission was changed by Loki in 2023 Season 2, leading to a major renovation of the TVA that we saw in 2024 Season 2. Deadpool and Wolverine. I want to see this more modern TVA developed further in the future of the MCU.

Deadpool and Wolverine Version of the TVA is slimmer and more modern than its darker predecessor. The fact that Earth-616 will continue to be monitored while every other reality is also monitored means that the new storytelling potential in the TVA is enormous. I would love to see this used in the future of the MCU, and a possible Loki Season 3 could explain why some TVA agents, including Matthew Macfadyen’s Paradox, are working against the organization’s new mission, similar to General Dox in Loki Season 2.

Season 3 of “Loki” could introduce more anchor creatures into the MCU

Until now, Loki was the source of most of the MCU’s new multiversal concepts. Deadpool and Wolverine This was changed by introducing the concept of anchor beings into the MCU. It made perfect sense to me that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine would be the anchor of Fox’s X-Men franchiseofficially called Earth-10005, as it is one of the most important wheels in Fox’ X-Men Machine. In Deadpool and WolverineAnchor beings are described as individuals of such importance that with their death, their universe also dies.

While Hugh Jackman’s original Wolverine has been revealed as the anchor being of Earth-10005, the official anchor being of the MCU has not yet been confirmed. I have theorized that it could be Doctor Strange or Spider-Man, but it would be great if their identity was officially revealed and a TVA-focused Loki Season 3 would be a great place for that. In fact, Loki Season 3 could bring together several powerful anchor beings and possibly form a brand new superhero team ready to fight the new major threat of the Multiverse Saga.

How Loki Season 3 Could Further Prepare Avengers 5 and 6

Season 2 of Loki perfectly prepared the old Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, but not Doomsday

Loki smiles at his friends in Loki Season 2

The End of Loki Season 2 seemed the perfect stage for TVA’s involvement in the then titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. The Phase 6 crossover event was originally supposed to feature an epic battle between Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Kang’s variants, but the firing of Jonathan Majors forced Marvel Studios to change its plans. While I would have loved to see the TVA and the Avengers hunt and fight Kang variants together, I am now very excited for the new Avengers: Endgame Debut of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.

The introduction of Doctor Doom as a new villain in the MCU means that the TVA could take on a new role in Phase 6. If Loki Season 3, it could be shown that the TVA brings together Anchor Beings to form a team to defeat Doom. Alternatively, I could see the TVA plucking anchor beings from their universes to save them from destructive invasions. End of the world And Avengers: Secret Wars. In this way, I believe Loki Season 3 would be one of the most important projects in the Multiverse Saga, so I am eagerly awaiting confirmation.
