IU Health opens clinic in McCordsville

IU Health is opening a new location in McCordsville, an outpatient physician practice that will offer primary care, gynecology and cardiovascular services. The grand opening is scheduled for Sept. 4 at 4 p.m. at 5986 Main St., McCordsville. The new location is part of a $300 million IU Health project that includes a major expansion of the IU Health Saxony campus and services and the creation of off-site outpatient access to primary care and specialists. Tours of the new facility will be available following a grand opening.

Water pipe flushing

Lawrence Public Utilities will flush water mains during normal business hours from September 23 through October 18. As a result of this action, some customers may experience temporary water discoloration and/or low water pressure. The color may range from light yellow to orange-red. If this occurs, the customer should run a medium cold stream of water until the water is clear. Do not run hot water or do laundry until the water is clear. The City will not reimburse customers for water used to flush their service lines due to iron discoloration. For more information, contact Lawrence Public Utilities at (317) 542-0511.

Networking of the chambers

The Greater Lawrence Chamber of Commerce has scheduled regular networking events throughout September. These include Water Cooler Wednesdays, which will take place on Sept. 11 at 7:45 a.m. at Heartland Film, 8950 Otis Ave., and Chew on This, which begins at 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 17 at The Garrison. The speaker on Sept. 17 is Dan Bortner, director of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. To register for these events, visit greaterlawrencechamber.org.

Condition of schools

The Greater Lawrence Chamber of Commerce will present the Metropolitan School District of Lawrence Township administration’s annual State of the Schools presentation. The event is scheduled for Sept. 19 at 11:30 a.m. in the MSDLT Administration Building, 6501 Sunnyside Rd. Entry through Door 3. Registration is required. Open studio for nude drawing

There will be an open life drawing class for ages 18 and older on September 15th from 5-8 p.m. at the Arts for Lawrence Theater at the Fort, 8920 Otis Ave. This is an open life drawing studio with a live model. No teacher will be provided. The $15 fee covers the model’s time. For more information, visit artsforlawrence.org.

Lawrence’s Latino Day

The City of Lawrence is planning a celebration of Latino culture on September 28th from noon to 4 p.m. at the Fort Ben Cultural Campus. The event will feature food, dancing, arts and crafts. Vendors can find a registration link at cityoflawrence.org.
