DC Police Release Photos in Search for Armed Robbery Suspects

WASHINGTON, DC – Authorities are asking the public for help in identifying suspects involved in two armed robberies that occurred in Southeast Washington on Monday, August 26. In both incidents, the suspects entered stores, displayed firearms and stole money before fleeing the scene.

The first robbery occurred at approximately 12:24 p.m. in the 3800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. The second occurred shortly thereafter, at approximately 12:46 p.m., in the 1400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast.

Recently released surveillance photos show images of the suspects.

Police are asking anyone with information to come forward. Anyone with knowledge of these incidents is asked to contact DC Metro Police at (202) 727-9099 or text a tip to 50411. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

  • Police ask for information about the murder of Ronald Carroll in Baltimore

    BALTIMORE, MD— Baltimore police are asking the public for help in identifying the suspect responsible for the murder of Ronald Carroll.

    The incident occurred on August 22 at around 12:19 a.m. in the 1900 block of E. North Avenue, where Carroll was shot.

    Anyone with information is asked to submit a tip through Metro Crime Stoppers or contact them at 1-866-7-LOCKUP. Tips leading to a felony charge and arrest may be rewarded with a cash reward of up to $8,000.

    CLEVELAND, OH— Five Ohio Lottery players won $26,000 each and shared the $130,000 jackpot in the August 26 Rolling Cash 5 drawing. The winning numbers were 1-8-9-18-19.

    The lucky tickets were sold at five different locations across the state: Gateway Newstand in Cleveland, McBills Beverage in Cleveland, Lucky Choice in Columbus, Buckeye Breeze Thru in Thornville and Maks Convenient Store in Cincinnati. Three winners chose their numbers manually, while two used the automatic selection feature.

    Rolling Cash 5 is a daily game with drawings nightly at 7:05 p.m. The Ohio Lottery has donated over $32 billion to education since its inception in 1974.

  • Wilkes-Barre police arrest fugitive wanted for sexual assault in Michigan

    WILKES BARRE, Pennsylvania. — A man wanted for sexual assault in Michigan was arrested by Wilkes-Barre police officers during a routine patrol on August 24, 2024.

    The incident occurred at approximately 12:58 p.m. when patrol officers at the Intermodal Transportation Center at 47 South Washington Street observed William Powers, 41, of Monroe, Michigan, smoking a cigarette, which is prohibited at the facility. Upon further investigation, officers discovered that Powers had an outstanding warrant for his arrest from the State of Michigan for sexual assault.

    Powers was taken into custody and transported to the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department before being transferred to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility (LCCF) to await extradition to Michigan.

    The City of Wilkes-Barre Police Department remains committed to public safety and the apprehension of fugitives wanted for serious crimes.
