The municipality of San José covers the entire southwest of the island, a vast area, so we have decided to limit the scope of this article to the area – mostly coastal – between the airport and Cala Bassa.. The zone has it all: some of the most beautiful and exclusive beaches in the Mediterranean, stunning scenery, popular resorts and charming villages.

Of course, there is also excellent dining. Whether you are looking to spend money on vacation or are looking for a fine dining restaurant that is not too expensive, San José is sure to have the right restaurant for you.

Casa Linda

San Jose

An oasis of peace and quiet set within the grounds of an exclusive boutique hotel in the village of San José, Casa Linda is surrounded by idyllic gardens filled with trees, plants and shrubs. Casa Linda has a remarkable culinary tradition. It was founded by Tomas Abellán, the son of the well-known Catalan chef Carles Abellán, who runs the three-Michelin-starred Casa Luz in Barcelona.

Tucked away next to the church in the small, charming village of San Agustín, Can Berri Vell enjoys a well-deserved reputation among discerning diners. The restaurant has a lovely garden and a beautiful terrace with views. The menu offers Mediterranean dishes with a stylish, modern twist.


Can bass

Located at km 7.5 of the Ibiza-San José road, Can Bass offers both traditional and contemporary dishes in opulent surroundings. Can Lemonade

Located right in the center of San José, Can Limo – now in its second edition – serves delicious Peruvian fusion cuisine.

With a small but well-designed menu ranging from Peruvian classics like ceviches to fusion dishes – think Chinese”Chifa“Pasta, Italian”quinottoand the Mexican-inspired Tako Criollo – this is where you can really expand your culinary boundaries.

One of the delightful aspects of the approach to food taken by the personable hosts Marcos and Stefania is the way the dishes are served with side dishes, making the experience imaginative and fun. With very reasonable prices and a terrace perfect for people watching, this is definitely worth a try!


Destino Tapas Bar

Just up the road is one of the best tapas bars on the island, Destino Bar de Tapas. Destino serves tapas with a twist. The menu includes all the well-known tapas classics, as well as dishes that artfully fuse traditional Spanish tapas with international cuisine. The large, busy terrace is perfect for people watching, and the cool breeze created by the location at the intersection of several side streets will keep you nice and cool.

The menu includes standout starters such as leeks in coconut milk – with just the right amount of spice – and a wonderfully refreshing watermelon and cucumber salad with green mint, perfect for warm summer nights.

Sa Caleta is home to an island institution, Sa Caleta Restaurant, a friendly, family-run restaurant that upholds the best traditions of Ibizan home cooking. If you’re looking for Ibizan cuisine in its purest form, then the number of locals eating at S’Espartar – between San José and Cala Tarida – should be a sure indicator of its authenticity. The locally caught fish and seafood – the owners come from a long fishing family – attract discerning diners from far and wide. With its pleasant country setting, lovely views from the terraces and generous portions, this Mediterranean restaurant is a great option for lunch or dinner.


Cas Costa’s Grill

Located on the roadside at kilometre 4 of the Ibiza-San José road, Cas Costas serves succulent grilled meats made from the finest ingredients, including fresh vegetables and greens from its own garden. It Cuco

On the way to Cala Tarida and Cala Conta

Es Cucó is located on the road to Cala Conta and is popular with locals and residents alike, thanks to its characteristic “Chicken in the oven” (roast chicken) – prepared according to a long family tradition – along with other delicious dishes.

It is a typical family-run restaurant, friendly and concerned about the satisfaction of its customers. The outdoor terraces are perfect for hot summer days and offer wonderful views of the countryside and the bay beyond. Add to that the generous portions and this restaurant should definitely be on your list!


Chimichurri Restaurant

Near San Agustin

Another restaurant with a large, enthusiastic following is the Chimichurri Restaurant, also located on the San José – Cala Conta road. It specializes in grilled meats, especially German and Argentinian, and offers an extensive selection of wines and beers (over 100 international varieties), a beautiful garden terrace and also vegetarian options.

Famous for its hospitality, generous portions and reasonable prices, this restaurant is sure to be a hit with the whole family.
