Multi-platinum artist presents new song “Lonely Road” – Inspired by John Denver’s cult song “Take Me Home, Country Roads”
Los Angeles – FOX Sports’ BIG NOON KICKOFF kicks off Week 1 with a bang, featuring a GRAMMY-nominated musical guest mgklive from Morgantown and the campus of West Virginia University on Saturday, August 31 at 10:00 a.m. ET.
The versatile musician will perform his new song “Lonely Road,” originally recorded with Jelly Roll and inspired by John Denver’s legendary “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” at BIG NOON KICKOFF in front of a live audience of loyal Mountaineer fans.
Denver’s original song is one of West Virginia’s official state anthems and has been played at West Virginia University football home games and varsity events since the 1970s.
Fans in attendance can catch an additional performance at the aptly named “Almost Heaven Village” on the West Virginia University campus prior to the show beginning at 9:00 a.m. ET.
BIG NOON KICKOFF previews the day’s most important college football games live from the sport’s most exciting campuses, beginning Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. ET on FOX – featuring the star-studded desk of Rob Stone, Brady Quinn, Mark Ingram II, Matt Leinart And Urban Meyeras well as insights and interviews from Chris “The Bear” Fallica, Bruce Feldman And Tom Rinaldi.
