While many celebrities claim that the secret to their eternal beauty is pure luck and water from the thermal springs of France, others are more realistic. The usual recommendations such as healthy eating, disciplined skin care and regular exercise, and drinking plenty of water are good for the skin, but they can only do so much. This is where cosmetic procedures come in. Although celebrities and those who have access to the world of cosmetic treatments often indulge in them, most of them keep this discussion behind closed doors, certainly not on social media. Tarek El Mousa, however, has decided to open that door with his latest post on Instagram. The American TV star and husband of Heather Rae from Sell sunset turned 43, and if you thought he didn’t look his age, he had a good reason. In the caption of his post, Tarek talked about his birthday celebration in Florida, specifically mentioning, “OMG I still can’t believe I’m 43!!! Huge thanks to whoever invented Botox!” Tarek’s social media posts often feature his jiu-jitsu sessions and facials, so it’s clear that taking care of his appearance is a holistic activity. It’s refreshing to see him acknowledge that Botox is one of the reasons he looks so good, along with his wellness processes and workouts.

Tarek has been open about his cosmetic treatments, but transparency about cosmetic procedures is even stricter among Bollywood stars. That is why Uorfi Javed’s recent revelations were a real refreshment. In her new web series Follow Kar Lo Yaarthe celebrity was refreshingly honest about breast augmentation, Botox and everything in between. In a clip from the show, she said: “As people get older, they get lines on their face. To cover them up, they get Botox and fillers. I get my lips injected. I have a little filler in my chin. I have filler under my eyes. And some Botox in my eyebrows. It’s my choice. I want to look better. I want to look beautiful. So it’s my desire.”
Starting with people like Tarek and Uorfi, the discussion about cosmetic surgery could become more transparent.
