In response to student feedback, Love Library South hours have been extended to midnight (Sunday – Thursday). The entire Love Library complex including Adele Hall Learning Commons, Link and Love Library South will close at the same time – 12:00 a.m. Card access to Love North/Adele Hall Learning Commons will continue to close at 10:00 p.m.
The libraries’ lending technology, formerly known as Media Services, is moving to the Adele Hall Learning Commons, Room 112. There, students will have access to the devices during all Learning Commons service desk hours. Computers with specialized software will remain in the Link.
Student study spaces are affected by the ongoing renovations in Love Library. Room 218 will be closed for the entire semester and only the ground floor of Room 201 (the mezzanine space) will be accessible. The upper mezzanine will be closed due to fire regulations while construction is taking place in the adjacent space. Both areas are expected to reopen for the Spring 2025 semester.
Standards of conduct have been implemented in all university libraries. These new standards are consistent with campus policies and establish positive behaviors.
“The Love Library is one of the few buildings on campus that is open to the public, and we have developed a code of conduct to guide our visitors,” explains Toni Anaya, Associate Director, Information Services & Learning Spaces.
One standard Anaya highlights is that motorized scooters are no longer allowed in any library space. Other buildings on campus follow the same standard. Racks are available outside where scooters and bikes can be safely parked.

Dinsdale Family Learning Commons on East Campus is open 7:30 a.m.–10:00 p.m. (Sunday–Thursday) and 7:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (Friday–Saturday).
The Architecture Library’s collections are open until 5:00 p.m. (Monday to Friday).
Services for Engineering will be moved to the Love Library until the Libraries have developed sustainable services in Kiewitt Hall. Interlibrary loan and printed course reservations must be picked up at the Love Library.
Opening hours of the Geology Library from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Monday-Friday)
The Math Library is accessible to students by appointment only (8 a.m.-4 p.m.). Card access is limited to faculty/staff and graduate students during Avery Hall hours. Library patrons may use a self-service kiosk to check out library materials. Once planned updates to Avery Hall’s card access system are completed, access to this area will be converted to NCard access for the entire UNL community during Avery Hall building hours.
