Oregon Ducks release uniform combination for the start of the football season: PHOTOS

The Oregon Ducks are synonymous with Nike and uniforms. Excitement is in the air as Oregon begins its first season in the Big Ten Conference, competing against elite talent such as the Ohio State Buckeyes, Michigan Wolverines and Penn State Nittany Lions.

The Ducks are starting their new era in style. Oregon has released its uniform combination for the first game of the 2024 college football season and it does not disappoint. Below are photos of what the Ducks will be wearing when they face the Idaho Vandals at Autzen Stadium on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. PT.

Fans are encouraged to “strip off their autzen,” meaning they must wear green or yellow depending on the section.

The Oregon Ducks football team released a new uniform combination in “Generation O’ Gang Green” last month and most Ducks fans are excited.

The predominantly green uniforms with yellow details have “Gang Green” embroidered into the collar, a nod to the “Gang Green” Oregon Ducks of the mid-1990s. Note the Big Ten patch on the front with the Fighting Duck logo on the shoulder. The Fighting Duck is also on the inside of the green gloves. The glossy green helmet features a yellow O.

The Ducks have already released the all-black “Fly Era” uniforms ahead of the 2024 season.

The helmet features classic white wings. The black jersey has an “O” with wings on the collar, reminiscent of previous jerseys. The black pants complete the intimidating look.

Oregon’s retro “Mighty Oregon” uniforms are a tribute to the 1997 Oregon Ducks. The white uniform features a fighting duck on the shoulders with apple green lettering and embellishment.

Uniform development for 2024 has always been innovative and unique because it takes a player-focused approach. At Oregon, a uniform committee was established that consisted of several players who worked with longtime football equipment administrator Kenny Farr.

Farr, who joined the Ducks in 2008, has a history of innovative uniform elements, including the heat-reactive, color-changing cleats introduced in 2023.

The Uniform Committee is another example of Farr’s forward-thinking approach. The committee includes players such as Traeshon Holden, Jeffery Bassa,T ez Johnson And Marcus Harper.

“It was awesome to be down there in the room with Kenny and see everything he has planned for the year,” Bassa said. “Down to the little details he does, like what helmet we’re going to wear, what socks we’re going to wear with it. It was just amazing to be a part of history. I know it’s going to be a big year with the uniforms and stuff. I know people are excited.”

The Ducks begin their 2024 season on Saturday afternoon against the Idaho Vandals in transfer quarterback Dillon Gabriel’s first game as a Duck. Oregon hopes to extend its non-conference home winning streak to 33 games, giving them the most consecutive wins in the country.
