Burger enthusiasts can support local communities and help build affordable housing during Habitat for Humanity’s fourth annual Soo Burger Month in September.
This citywide fundraiser is supported by numerous restaurants, with at least two dollars per purchase going to Habitat’s newest project – a five-family building on Goulais Avenue.
The Burger Passport, available at participating restaurants and the Habitat ReStore, lists the restaurants’ locations, the special new burgers they will be serving, and the Habitat donation per burger sold.
When you purchase a Soo Burger Month burger, be sure to have your waiter or waitress sign the pass. There are special prices for those who visit the most participating restaurants.

It’s almost September, which means school is back in session, hockey fans are lacing up their skates, and Habitat for Humanity Sault Ste. Marie and Area is hosting its fourth annual Soo Burger Month!
This citywide fundraiser lets you go from restaurant to restaurant eating local burgers, with at least $2 of your purchase going to affordable housing in our community. This event combines supporting local businesses, raising money for affordable housing during a housing crisis, and eating great burgers!
The Burger Pass, available at participating restaurants and the Habitat ReStore, lists the restaurants’ locations, the special new burger they will be serving, and the Habitat donation per burger sold. When you purchase a Soo Burger Month burger, be sure to have your waiter or waitress sign the pass. There are special prizes for those who visit the most participating restaurants.
The fundraiser is also spiced up with a little competition. Restaurants compete for prizes for the best burger and the most burgers sold. You can vote for the best burger online by following the QR code on the burger pass or branded place card. You can either do this anonymously or enter your email address to enter another competition.
Funds raised during Soo Burger Month 2024 will support HHSSMA’s largest project to date – a five-family home on Goulais Avenue!
