Scooter Braun jokes that Taylor Swift didn’t invite him to her beach party

One person who definitely won’t be on Taylor Swift’s guest list any time soon is Scooter Braun – but at least he seems to have a sense of humor about it.

On Instagram Stories on Tuesday (August 27), the music manager poked fun at his years-long feud with the pop superstar by sharing a screenshot of TMZReporting on their recent beach vacation with Travis Kelce, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes and other famous friends. “Why couldn’t I have been invited to this?!?” he wrote, adding the hashtag “#laughalittle.”

Shortly before, Braun had also announced that he would be joining Max Taylor Swift vs. Scooter Braun: Bad Blood a try. “I finally checked it out…” he wrote, sharing a screenshot of the project’s poster.

Billboard has contacted Swift’s representative for comment.

The documentary, released on Max in June, documents the dispute between the SB Projects founder and Swift over the sale of her master recordings in 2019, which sparked her re-recording of “Taylor’s Version.” The 14-time Grammy winner claimed at the time that she was not informed before Braun’s acquisition – which her former label head Scott Borchetta denied – and wrote in a Tumblr blog post that she only found out about the news “when it was announced to the world.”

“All I could think about was the incessant, manipulative bullying I received from him for years,” she added of Braun at the time. “That’s my worst-case scenario. That’s what happens when you sign a contract at fifteen with someone for whom the term ‘loyalty’ is clearly just a contractual concept.”

With that in mind, it’s not surprising that Braun was not on the guest list for Swift’s get-together at her Rhode Island mansion, which was also reportedly attended by Channing Tatum, Jason Kelce and Bradley Cooper. The vacation comes hot on the heels of the “Anti-Hero” singer’s final shows in London on the European leg of the Ears Tour, which concluded with five nights at Wembley Stadium.

“London felt like a beautiful dream sequence,” Swift wrote about the concerts in an August 21 Instagram post. “All five of the audience members at Wembley Stadium were bursting with passion, joy and exuberance. The energy in that stadium was like the biggest bear hug from 92,000 people every night and brought me back to a place of carefree calm up there.”
