ROSEMONT, III. – The Big Ten Conference on Wednesday announced its list of field hockey players to watch in 2024. Preseason honors were given to 13 student-athletes who earned All-Big Ten honors last season.
Also on the watch list are four winners from last season: Penn State’s Sophia Gladieux (Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year), Rutgers’ Puck Winter (Defensive Player of the Year), Northwestern’s Annabel Skubisz (Goalie of the Year) and Iowa’s Dionne van Aalsum (Freshman of the Year).
Also on the watch list are five Olympians who represented Team USA at the Paris Games last month: Maryland’s Emma Deberdine, Michigan’s Abby Tamer, Northwestern’s Ashley Sessa and Maddie Zimmer, and Penn State’s Sophia Gladieux.
The 2024 field hockey season begins Friday and all nine schools will play this weekend.
