The frontman of Coldplay caused a stir in Dublin.

Superfan Rachel Robertson met Chris Martin by chance on the pier in Dun Laoghaire last night.

This happened just moments after she was scammed online for €400 for fake Coldplay tickets.

Rachel, from Killiney, said Chris stepped in to save the situation.

“Basically, I got stupidly scammed on Facebook yesterday. It was a very good scam. A friend of a friend’s Facebook was hacked, so I thought it was pretty legitimate. But obviously the hackers caught me and I ended up losing 400 euros,” she said.

“At the gymnastics events, I went down to the pier with one of the girls and took a walk. Ayla spotted Chris Martin. He just came up to us and it was really relaxed.

“He just said, ‘What happened? Tell me the story,’ and we did, and he said, ‘Are you being honest now?’

Then he said, “Let me send the scammer a selfie,” but it was obviously blocked.

Rachel said the Coldplay frontman then offered to give her two VIP tickets to their show at Croke Park on Monday.

“He said, ‘I’ll send you the tickets,’ and then he said jokingly, ‘You’re not lying, are you?’ And we said, ‘No, I swear.’

“He was really nice and so was his manager,” she added.
