You don’t have to wait long to see season 2! The second season consists of eight 30-minute episodes, and all eight will stream exclusively on Peacock starting November 21, 2024.

What happens in season 2 of Based on a true story?
The showrunners have given a taste of what to expect in the new season! At the end of the season one finale, Ava and Nathan literally buried a body under a tennis court when they were about to be discovered by the victim’s husband. Ava’s sister Tory began a relationship with the West Side Ripper. Ava was also pregnant with the couple’s first child.
Our questions about how Nathan and Ava are coping with parenthood are answered immediately. Season 2 begins with the couple three months after the birth of their parents.
“Focused on providing for her family, Ava is determined to resist her obsession with true crime and return to work as a real estate agent while Nathan coaches private tennis clients,” the show’s press release said.

The couple also work on their friendship with Matt. But like any good crime junkie, Ava won’t be able to suppress her obsession for long, as a series of new murders will draw her back into her investigative work.
