Westland John Glenn is seeking nominations for his second annual Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

Each candidate must meet at least one of the four athletic department requirements:

1. Be a former student-athlete who earned either All-League, All-Area or All-State honors, demonstrated good character, and graduated from JGHS at least 10 years ago.

2. Be a retired coach who has spent significant time at JGHS, made an impact on the sport, school and community, and has a respectable win-loss record, conference records and state tournament appearances.

3. Be a community member with over 10 years of proven support for the JGHS athletic department and have demonstrated this through notable contributions to the program.

4. Be a notable traditional team that had a phenomenal season, won a conference championship, had success in an MHSAA tournament, or went undefeated.

The nomination process ends on October 31st.

“We need your help to identify the greatest student-athletes, coaches, teams and community members to ever walk the halls of John Glenn,” athletic director Jason Malloy wrote in a press release. “You have the opportunity to nominate someone or a team based on their accomplishments in high school. … Your nomination will be reviewed and considered by the Hall of Fame committee.”

The first class of Rockets included 32 teams, athletes, coaches and community members.
