I couldn’t believe my eyes when I walked into Home Depot in Rockford this week – the Halloween decorations were already on display in full splendor!
It’s still August, summer is still here, but I guess we decided to just fast forward to Halloween?! I’m here for it, but how early is REALLY too early?
I went to Home Depot over the weekend and saw that all the giant skeletons, spooky decorations, and blow-ups were already on sale. My friend works at Home Depot and shared these photos on Facebook! Even she rolled her eyes at the sight, haha.

Honestly, it’s not just the big box stores that are staying ahead of the competition. Thrift stores are on the rise too! At Goodwill, there were shopping carts full of fall items and shelves lined with spooky knickknacks and home goods.
I mean, it’s great if you’re totally into Halloween, but can we at least get through August before we start thinking about goblins and ghosts? Fall doesn’t start until September 22nd!
It’s crazy how early Halloween starts this year. I heard Christmas items are already on the way…say it’s not true.
I’m just trying to enjoy the summer for a few more weeks without having to think about the vacation that is still months away. Is that too much to ask?!
I wonder how early is too early to start celebrating Halloween?
