At the beginning of the year, Godspeed You! Black Emperor debuted on tour with new songs. The latest album by the post-rock greats was 2021 G_d’s pee-man AT THE END OF THE STATE!and today they announced the successor, “NO TITLE, AS OF FEBRUARY 13, 2024, 28,340 DEATHS”and refers to the 28,340 Palestinians killed in Gaza as of February 13. The single “GREY RUBBLE – GREEN SHOOTS” is available now.
“GREY RUBBLE – GREEN SHOOTS” is a somber, nearly seven-minute song and the finale of the 6-track LP, which was produced and mixed by Jace Lasek and mastered by Harris Newman. The Bandcamp description of the record reads:

we drifted through, arguing.
Every day a new war crime, every day a flower blooms.
We sat down and wrote it in a room,
and then sat in another room and recorded.
NO TITLE = what gestures make sense as tiny bodies fall? What context? What broken melody?
and then a tally and a date to mark a point on the line, the negative process, the growing stack.
the sun sets over ash beds
while we sat together and argued.
the old world order hardly pretended to care about it.
This new century will be even more cruel.
The war is coming.
