Doomsday fan art implies a victory for Doctor Doom

A piece Avengers: Endgame Fan art by BossLogic implies a victory for Doctor Doom. Previously there was a rumor for The Fantastic Four: First Steps explained that Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom could come from the new Fantastic Four universe.

In the image, Doctor Doom wears Ms. Marvel’s Quantum Band and two of the Ten Rings while holding America Chavez’s jacket, while the film’s title card can be seen below. In the upload’s description, BossLogic explained: “If all that talk turns out to be true, there won’t be a fight. He’ll just snatch their stuff away real quick.

Before this news, The Fantastic Four: First Steps Director Matt Shakman went into detail about the importance of keeping Downey Jr.’s return a secret, explaining, “It’s incredibly exciting. I’m obviously a huge Robert Downey Jr. fan and there’s no bigger one. And I’ve heard about it for some time and had to keep the secret for a while. But it’s really exciting! I’ve kept it under wraps.”

“If all that talk comes true, there won’t be any fight. He’ll just snatch their stuff away real quick.”

In addition, Joseph Culp, who played Doctor Doom in Roger Corman’s Fantastic Four film, defended Downey Jr. as the Lord of Latveria, stating that it was “an amazing moment” to see the announcement that Downey Jr. would “take on the mask of Doom.” Culp further noted, “It’s certainly an exciting moment that after many years, an actor is finally going to step into the shoes of Doom. We’ve had a few other incarnations of it, but it’s Robert Downey Jr. How exciting.”

“As a fellow actor, I want to give a huge shout out to Mr. Downey,” he concluded. “It’s a great role. He’s a great actor who has proven that time and time again. He’s reinvented himself in many ways, both in his life and in his career. So who better to take on the role of Doom in this uncertain moment when Marvel, many are sure, needs a big push?”

Will Kang ever return to the MCU?

In the spotlight Avengers: Endgame Marvel Studios President and CCO Kevin Feige himself spoke about the MCU future of Kang the Conqueror in July, sharing at the time: “I’ve done a number of interviews over the last few days, and you’re the first person who, I give you credit for just asking the question directly, and I have to give myself credit for trying to conquer it and avoid it completely.” Previously, there was a rumor that Marvel Studios was interested in an alliance between Kang the Conqueror and Spider-Man 2099.

Back to The Fantastic Four: First StepsFeige went into more detail about what’s important about it, confirming that it’s “all about the characters.” He added, “It’s all about the family. It’s all about (that) dynamic. The moment we signed the announced cast, 90 percent of the work was done. That’s the focus of the movie.”

Avengers: Endgame will be released in theaters on May 1, 2026.
