Willacoochee man among 16 others arrested in Operation Wrong Room

DECATUR, Ga. (WALB) – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has made 17 arrests as part of Operation Wrong Room.

According to GBI, Operation Wrong Room is a proactive, multi-jurisdictional effort to combat human trafficking in Georgia.

As part of the operation, authorities contacted 15 adults and offered them services such as food, accommodation, medical care, drug rehabilitation, counseling/therapy and child care.

As part of Operation Wrong Room, law enforcement seized more than $255,000 from suspected human traffickers during two executed search warrants in Georgia.

One of the suspects arrested was 29-year-old Roberto Martinez of Willacoochee. He is accused of pimping.

Operation Wrong Room occurred concurrently with Operation Coast to Coast. On August 22, law enforcement and service providers from across the United States joined forces to conduct a federal anti-human trafficking operation.

Coast to Coast was a grassroots initiative of 26 states with the shared goals of identifying victims of human trafficking, providing those victims with much-needed services, arresting traffickers, and making our communities safer.
