Premier Inn introduces new room design

Due to the increasing prevalence of social media and more flexible working environments following the Covid-19 pandemic, Premier Inn has introduced a new room design.

The hotel chain will open 11,000 Next Evolution Style rooms in 100 hotels by February 2025.

The new rooms feature “stylish, softer and fresher” interiors, a neutral and dove grey colour palette, improved lighting, double shower heads and floor-to-ceiling curtains.

Most rooms feature fabric headboards in the brand’s signature purple color scheme, charging and USB ports next to the bed, and soft purple lights have been installed.

Static desks have been replaced with flexible tables to provide business travelers with a more relaxed working environment. Desks can also be removed directly opposite beds.

Other Instagrammable elements feature throughout the resort’s hotels, such as neon signs in some reception and dining areas, contemporary fabrics and artwork.

The rooms are divided into three areas. There is a preparation area with power sockets and hairdryers, a sleeping area with the bed and the “hive” for working and charging devices.

Sarah Simpson, Head of Product & Proposition at Whitbread, said: “We have worked hard to enhance the design of our Hero Rooms and are very proud to introduce our new rooms, which are based on careful guest research and offer guests more flexibility and personalisation than ever before. In addition, we are creating a more efficient environment for our team members to maintain the rooms.

“We know how important sleep is and as experts in restful sleep, we have invested in providing the best possible environment for our guests and have developed these new rooms according to the needs of our customers. In doing so, we have tried to create a warm and welcoming environment where guests feel comfortable and secure and can sleep as well as possible.”
