Halle Bailey is enjoying motherhood! The singer and actress gave birth to her son with rapper DDG, Halo, in December last year. While photos of her child on social media were initially kept to a minimum, the star of The Color Purple has been sharing more and more of her adorable son, including a clip from the weekend that set the internet talking.
In a post on DDG’s Snapchat account, Bailey cradles baby Halo at a restaurant and feeds him some food. Halo clearly takes after his mom, as the two look almost identical in the video. Aside from that, as DDG points out in his caption, the two also eat the same. The rapper wrote, “They chew the same,” adding a series of laughing emojis.
In a fan account post on Instagram that reposted DDG’s Snapchat story, fans commented on the two. One user wrote, “That’s her beautiful little twin,” while another wrote, “The whole face is double,” commenting on the striking resemblance between mother and son. Another user wrote, “Imagine giving birth to yourself… too cute.”
Of course, there were some unkind comments too, with some asking why the baby had already started eating solid food. One user wrote, “Kid he was gagging. Slow down lol.” Others went as far as to say, “They’re not cute.”
Once again, some online users are being a little too vocal about mothers in the public eye and their parenting methods, even going so far as to criticize the appearance of both mother and child. Thankfully, Bailey’s passionate supporters have also defended her in the comments.
One account wrote: “Some of these comments…” and posted emojis. “Some people are so unhappy, please get well soon.” As the old saying goes, if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.
