TABERNACLE – A teaching assistant at Seneca High School is accused of asking a student for nude photos.

According to the Burlington County District Attorney’s Office, Michael Van Kline, 42, of Lumberton, allegedly had sexual conversations with the student via social media.

Van Kline, described as a teaching assistant at Seneca, “convinced the student to send him nude photos and suggested the two meet to have sex,” prosecutors said in a statement.

Investigators are looking for other possible victims, the statement said.

To protect the Seneca student’s privacy, further information was withheld.

The Lenape Regional High School District, which includes Seneca, said the alleged misconduct “did not involve conduct of a physical nature and did not occur at school or at any school-related event.”

“We can also confirm that this individual will be prohibited from being on school property or attending school events in the future,” the district said in a statement.

“The well-being of our students, staff and our entire community is always our highest priority,” the statement said, noting that the district is cooperating with the investigation.

Van Kline’s LinkedIn page lists him as having been with Lenape for 11 years.

Van Kline also works as DJ MikeSmooV; videos of him performing at proms and weddings can be seen on YouTube.

Van Kline was arrested Thursday on charges of endangering the welfare of a child.

He was released from the Burlington County Jail following a court appearance on Friday.

The charges against Van Kline, who did not respond to a request for comment, are merely allegations. He has not been convicted in the case.
